The filter:
It represents one of the most common ways of making coffee, particularly in the United States and in Northern Europe. In Italy, especially among young people and in major towns, filter coffee has been building up its own position in the market little by little, as it was almost non-existing before. Boiling water is poured on the ground coffee in a special filter, and left running through it. The coffee remains in contact with the water for about 6 to 8 minutes: when it is ready, you will be able to serve a light beverage in a coffee mug that is typical of this style of preparation.
